Alarming Recording Shows Point Police Suffer Blade Attacks in Unexpected Assault

Both Senior Officers Moments Before the Attacker Received Electric Shock

A senior officer that leaped to the aid of a fellow officer that was assaulted by a blade-wielder has been awarded the Monarch's Honor for Courage.

Sergeant Tim Ansell grappled with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown following he held a knife to the neck of his fellow officer Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the policemen and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver following a road collision in that location in mid-2023.

Brown knifed and cut the two Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft stunned him with a stun gun.

"Policeman knifed," the constable could be heard saying over his communication device.

Bodyworn and vehicle camera recording released by the agency depicted Brown, wearing in black with a hood up, rush to Sgt Foster from the rear with a knife extended.

He struck the policeman who stumbled and went down to the street, before Sergeant Ansell stepped in and struggled to restrain him to the ground even though being repeatedly struck with the blade.

Police Constable Wolstencroft Incapacitated the Attacker, Jacob Brown, with a Stun Gun

Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and sought a clear shot, bringing the struggle to an finish.

Sgt Ansell was heard stating: "I need help on my throat now, I'm bleeding in the neck."

Sgt Ansell suffered two deep cuts to his neck and more wounds to his limbs and body, whereas Sergeant Foster suffered slash wounds.

Officials stated Sergeant Foster employed his hands to control his fellow officer's hemorrhaging prior to emergency responders arrived.

The latest honor comes after the three officers were granted internal Courage Honors in late 2023 and the police federation award from the regional officer association in April 2024.

They further earned a North West Bravery Award in mid-2024.

"The responses of all three officers in the end rescued each other and ensured no civilians suffered any harm."

Brown was given to an secure medical confinement in spring 2024, per officials.
